Controls Product Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Controls Product Engineer to join our Research & Development team, designing and implementing control systems for material handling automation equipment. The role involves travel up to 50% of the time, primarily within the USA.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed product development plans, design layouts, sketches, and technical specifications.
• Create prototypes, support testing, and provide technical feasibility guidance.
• Design, implement, and maintain control software for industrial systems, including PLC programming (Siemens TIA Portal, RSLogix/Studio 5000).
• Perform engineering change management, maintain design records, and ensure compliance with UL 508, 508A, NEC, and CE standards.
• Support customer service, installations, troubleshooting, and product validation worldwide.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (professional license required).
• 3‑5 years of experience in product design and control systems, preferably in material handling or automation.
• Willingness to travel internationally and hold a Mexican passport with a US tourist visa.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills in English.

Required skills

• PLC hardware integration (Siemens, Allen Bradley) and communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Profinet, AS‑i).
• Embedded firmware development (C, C++, Visual C, Visual Basic) and motor control (AC/DC).
• Control software platforms, CI/CD pipelines, Git, and SAP/engineering documentation systems.
• Knowledge of UL, CE, NEC standards and cable/cabinet design for control systems.
