About the role
The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) is seeking a temporary Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Officer specializing in anti‑corruption to support its global anti‑corruption programme. Based in the Mexico City Country Office, the incumbent will work under the supervision of a senior P‑4 officer and will coordinate closely with UNODC headquarters in Vienna and the Regional Corruption and Financial Crime Hub.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, organise and implement technical assistance programmes on anti‑corruption at regional and national levels, in line with UNODC strategy.
- Provide policy advice and practical support to anti‑corruption bodies, including guidance on legislation, mandates, structures and operational practices.
- Assist national anti‑corruption agencies in detecting, investigating and prosecuting corruption, money‑laundering and related offences.
- Support resource mobilisation by liaising with donor countries and partners.
- Contribute to the implementation review mechanism of the UN Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) and deliver needs‑based technical assistance.
Required profile
- Advanced university degree in law, public policy, criminology or a related field.
- Significant experience in anti‑corruption, crime prevention or criminal justice programmes, preferably within an international organisation.
- Demonstrated ability to work with governments, donor agencies and civil‑society partners.
- Strong analytical and report‑writing skills, with fluency in English; knowledge of Spanish is an asset.
