Data Engineer – Engineering & Quality

About the role

Join Fitch Group’s Technology & Data team as a Data Engineer focused on Engineering & Quality. You will work within a high‑performing data engineering squad to design and deliver modern, scalable data solutions that support business priorities and enable AI‑driven insights.

Key responsibilities

• Implement modern, scalable data solutions aligned with business priorities.
• Partner with the Chief Data Office and data product leaders to build an AWS‑based data platform for enterprise‑wide self‑service.
• Define and apply architectural decisions and best practices for data ingestion, transformation, and distribution.
• Champion emerging technologies such as Agentic AI and Generative AI, integrating them into data workflows.
• Ensure operational excellence by addressing complex engineering challenges, establishing robust quality controls, and preventing production incidents.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience as a data‑centric software engineer, preferably in financial services.
• Experience with data lake‑house technologies (e.g., AWS, Databricks, Snowflake).
• Familiarity with data virtualization solutions (e.g., Starburst) and data catalog/quality tools (e.g., Collibra).
