Design Engineer (CAD Designer)

About the role

We are seeking a Design Engineer with strong CAD expertise to create and refine product models for our automotive Tier‑1 projects. The role involves close collaboration with internal teams and external partners to ensure accurate data transfer and compliance with industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Create new CAD models for upcoming products.
• Analyze and modify CAD models received from customers, suppliers, or internal sources.
• Develop and edit DWG files using company and customer templates, applying appropriate GD&T.
• Manage CAD data releases within the YF PLM system.
• Communicate with internal YFITC and customer departments to transfer data efficiently.

Required profile

• 2‑year Associate degree in CAD design or 4‑year Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (ABET‑accredited or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years of product design experience, preferably in the automotive Tier‑1 environment.
• Deep understanding of plastics, metal stampings, and A‑surface development.
• Familiarity with automotive standards and procedures (FMVSS, Euro, NOM, ASME, ISO, CR‑CN, etc.).

Required skills

• Expertise in CATIA and NX design software.
• Functional knowledge of PLM tools such as Teamcenter, Enovia, SAP, and AGILE.
• Proficiency in GD&T application.
• Experience with plastics, metal stamping processes, and A‑surface development.
• Knowledge of automotive standards (FMVSS, Euro, NOM, ASME, ISO, CR‑CN).
