Design Engineer – Home Appliances

About the role

As a Design Engineer in the Consumer Goods product development team, you will create and release new home appliance designs from concept through manufacturing, ensuring safety, quality, cost, and customer requirements are met.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain 3D CAD models and 2D drawings of components, systems, and modules using NX.
• Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical data packages in the PLM system.
• Manage engineering change requests and coordinate with cross‑functional teams and suppliers.
• Perform GD&T and 3D tolerance stack‑up analyses.
• Create and maintain risk assessments such as FMEA and DRBFM.
• Support problem‑solving initiatives using 8D, Six Sigma, or DOE methods.
• Recommend materials and component technologies for design optimization.
• Define test parameters, oversee test execution, and compile results to validate performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
• Hands‑on experience with consumer cooking appliances or related products is a plus.
• Knowledge of plastics design and mold‑in‑place best practices.

Required skills

• NX 3D CAD modeling and assembly creation.
• 2D drawing production for manufacturing.
• Model‑Based Definition (MBD) and Product & Manufacturing Information (PMI).
• Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and 3D tolerance stack‑up.
• Risk assessment tools: FMEA, DRBFM.
• Problem‑solving methodologies: 8D, Six Sigma, DOE.
• PLM system usage for BOM and data package management.
