Design Engineer – Home Appliances

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Design Engineer to join our Consumer Goods product development team. You will drive the design, documentation, and release of new home‑appliance products from concept through manufacturing while ensuring safety, quality, cost, and customer requirements are met.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain 3D CAD models and 2D drawings of components, sub‑modules and complete appliances using NX.
• Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical data packages in accordance with the BSH product development process.
• Manage Engineering Change Requests (CRs) and coordinate with internal streams and customers.
• Perform GD&T, tolerance stack‑up analysis, and risk assessments (FMEA, DRBFM) throughout the product lifecycle.
• Support problem‑solving initiatives using 8D, Six Sigma or DOE methodologies.
• Define test parameters, oversee test execution and compile results to validate performance.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Quality, Purchasing, Manufacturing and Suppliers to ensure on‑time product realization.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering or a related discipline.
• Hands‑on experience with consumer cooking appliances or related products.
• Knowledge of plastics design and mold‑in‑place best practices.
• ISO GD&T certification or equivalent experience.

Required skills

• NX (3D CAD modeling and assembly creation).
• 2D drawing production for manufacturing.
• Model‑Based Definition (MBD) and Product & Manufacturing Information (PMI).
• Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerance stack‑up analysis.
• FMEA, DRBFM, risk assessment techniques.
• 8D, Six Sigma, DOE problem‑solving methods.
• CAE analysis basics.
• Plastics design, mold‑in‑place processes.
