Design Engineer

About the role

Under general supervision, the Design Engineer will apply mechanical engineering principles to create components, systems, and functions for floor‑maintenance products. The role involves both design and support activities, ensuring that prototypes and production models meet performance, reliability, and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design components and systems using CAD and calculation tools to meet project objectives.
• Collaborate with suppliers and operations to verify specifications and optimise assembly.
• Define test plans for components, systems and machines, and interpret test results.
• Perform engineering analysis to predict behavior and resolve design issues.
• Create and maintain engineering documentation throughout the design phase.
• Provide technical support to assembly lines and service teams, assisting with troubleshooting and refinements.
• Work with Product Management and other departments to define product features, performance targets and project goals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 4‑8 years of experience in mechanical engineering and design.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, configuration control, and manufacturing/assembly processes.
• Understanding of durability, customer satisfaction, and product safety considerations.
• Ability to plan, organise, and manage multiple tasks in a team environment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CREO CAD software.
• Experience using MS Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Working knowledge of ERP systems such as LN or SAP.
• Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools.
• Capability to learn new engineering software quickly.
