Direct Buyer – Global Materials Procurement

About the role

We are looking for a highly motivated, self‑starting Direct Buyer to lead the procurement of direct materials from global suppliers. The role focuses on strategic sourcing, cost reduction, and maintaining supply‑chain integrity for high‑precision components such as castings, stampings, and machined parts.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for direct materials, targeting cost savings and quality improvements.
• Manage the full RFQ/RFP process, evaluate supplier proposals, and negotiate contracts.
• Maintain and update Bills of Materials (BOM) and ensure alignment with engineering specifications.
• Coordinate with international suppliers across Asia and Europe, handling Incoterms and logistics.
• Monitor supplier performance through KPIs and drive continuous improvement.
• Utilize SAP (MM module) or equivalent ERP systems for purchase orders, inventory control, and reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, International Trade, Supply Chain, or Business Administration.
• Minimum 5 years of direct material purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive or industrial.
• Proven track record managing overseas suppliers and international logistics.
• Advanced professional proficiency in English (C1 level).

Required skills

• Interpretation of engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Bill of Materials (BOM) management.
• Strategic sourcing and RFQ/RFP execution.
• Expert‑level SAP MM or Oracle ERP usage.
• Advanced MS Excel (pivot tables, macros) and Power BI for data analysis.
• Strong knowledge of Incoterms and international logistics.
