Direct Purchasing Specialist

About the role

The Direct Purchasing Specialist will join BorgWarner's Supply Chain Management team, working closely with purchasing representatives across plants and regions. The role focuses on resolving supply issues related to cost, delivery, and quality while supporting the long‑term vision of the Purchasing function.

Key responsibilities

• Purchase materials and services online in line with existing strategies.
• Collaborate with Production Control and Logistics to address material shortages and commercial matters.
• Obtain and communicate supplier capacity data for decision‑making.
• Lead negotiations with suppliers for new and existing programs and upload quotes into the GQS system.
• Coordinate supplier relationships across BorgWarner departments.
• Support Finance in resolving invoice pricing discrepancies.
• Maintain and regularly update purchase orders based on current supplier agreements.
• Research market conditions for assigned commodities and sustain strong supplier relationships.
