Director of Security

About the role

The Director of Security will lead the Security/Loss Prevention Department at Chileno Bay Resort & Residences, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for guests, employees, and visitors. This senior position reports directly to senior hotel management and is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of safety across the property.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily security operations, including patrols, incident response, and loss prevention initiatives.
• Protect guests, staff, assets, and property from accidents, theft, and other risks while adhering to established security standards.
• Lead, train, coach, and develop a team of security professionals in line with company policies and luxury hospitality expectations.
• Prepare flexible work schedules based on occupancy levels and operational demands.
• Conduct pre‑shift briefings, reviewing occupancy forecasts, special events, VIP arrivals, and operational priorities.
• Ensure strict compliance with service standards, company policies, and local regulations, collaborating closely with Human Resources.
• Perform regular performance evaluations and assign responsibilities to drive accountability and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing security operations in a hospitality or similar high‑service environment.
• Strong leadership and team‑development skills.
• Comprehensive knowledge of security procedures, emergency response, and loss‑prevention techniques.
• Ability to work under pressure and make swift, effective decisions.
