Driver Relations Specialist

About the role

The Driver Relations Specialist supports HMD Trucking’s driver retention initiatives by building rapport with drivers, collecting feedback, and working with Operations to improve the driver experience. This role conducts milestone check‑in interviews, final candidate interviews, and assists with travel arrangements when needed. It is ideal for someone who enjoys helping people and solving problems.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct new‑hire check‑in calls at 7, 30, 60 and 90 days.
• Assist with driver issues reported by drivers and dispatchers and support operations management in solving them.
• Identify drivers at risk of turnover and maintain close contact to address concerns.
• Proactively call drivers to obtain feedback and spot potential problems.
• Communicate daily with operations and retention management via calls and email.
• Conduct exit interviews for resigning drivers and identify retention opportunities.
• Build genuine rapport with drivers.
• Assist with booking travel for drivers when applicable.

Required profile

• Minimum of 1 year experience in a customer‑service related role.
• Experience in trucking or logistics is preferred but not required.
