Financial Controller

About the role

The Financial Controller will be the key local finance professional for our fast‑growing fintech operation in Mexico. Reporting to Group Finance and the CFO in Bulgaria, you will ensure the integrity of the books, oversee tax compliance, manage liquidity and support budgeting and financial planning.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as primary liaison with the external accounting firm, reviewing work for accuracy and meeting deadlines.
• Define and maintain accounting policies under Mexican FRS and applicable IFRS, updating them as regulations change.
• Design and enforce internal controls, approval workflows, reconciliations and document retention.
• Supervise tax compliance calendar (ISR, IVA, DIOT, DIM Anexo 9, PTU, payroll taxes) and ensure timely filings.
• Monitor tax positions, estimated payments, credits/debits and translate impacts into cash‑flow forecasts.
• Oversee daily liquidity, cash‑flow forecasting and budgeting processes.

Required profile

• Proactive, organized and dependable with a strong sense of ownership.
• Ability to anticipate issues, manage multiple workstreams independently and communicate effectively with banks, auditors and tax advisors.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of Mexican Financial Reporting Standards (FRS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Extensive experience with Mexican tax regulations (ISR, IVA, DIOT, DIM Anexo 9, PTU, payroll taxes).
• Liquidity management, budgeting and financial planning expertise.
