First English Teacher – Early Years

About the role

We are seeking a passionate First English Teacher to join our Early Years team. You will design and deliver engaging English lessons that nurture young learners’ literacy and communication skills in a supportive, play‑based environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver First English lessons aligned with the Early Years curriculum.
• Develop early literacy skills including phonological awareness, phonics, vocabulary, listening, speaking, reading and emergent writing.
• Create a language‑rich classroom that encourages curiosity, creativity and communication.
• Use play‑based, inquiry‑based and experiential learning strategies appropriate for young children.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
• Integrate storytelling, music, movement, games and hands‑on activities into daily instruction.
• Observe, assess and monitor language development; maintain accurate assessment records and student portfolios.
• Provide timely feedback to parents and collaborate with specialists for additional support.
• Maintain a safe, nurturing, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents and the Personalized Learning team.
• Contribute to curriculum planning and stay current with best practices in early childhood English instruction.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, English, TESOL, Applied Linguistics or related field.
• Teaching certification appropriate for Preschool or Early Years.
• Native or near‑native English proficiency.
• Previous experience teaching English to young children.
• Training in early literacy instruction (desirable).
