General Specialist

About the role

General Specialists are responsible for delivering a variety of camp programs to children, guiding them through daily activities and ensuring a safe, engaging environment. Working closely with cabin groups, they live on‑site and collaborate with counsellors and other specialists to create memorable experiences for campers.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and facilitate camp programs across multiple activity areas for groups of 8‑12 campers.
• Instruct different camper groups each day, adapting lessons to the specific Specialty Area.
• Live in the cabin with campers, providing supervision and support throughout the day and evening.
• Coordinate with 2‑3 counsellors and fellow General Specialists to maintain a staff‑to‑camper ratio of 1:3‑4.
• Ensure the safety, well‑being, and positive development of all campers.

Required profile

• Enthusiasm for working with children and a passion for outdoor or educational activities.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse groups and activity areas.
• Willingness to reside on‑site in a cabin environment for the duration of the camp.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with counsellors and other staff.
