Indirect Tax Specialist

About the role

Join Maersk’s Global Service Center in Mexico as an Indirect Tax Specialist. You will support the company’s tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring accurate filings and contributing to continuous improvement of tax processes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review indirect tax returns and related workpapers accurately and on time.
• Collect, process, analyse, and reconcile data for tax returns and payments.
• Maintain documentation to support filing positions and future audits.
• Identify, initiate, and support process improvements within the tax function.
• Support audit requirements and ensure audit readiness for various jurisdictions.
• Monitor tax compliance workflow, deadlines, and account aging balances.
• Contribute to finance transformation and tax‑related projects.
• Research international indirect tax laws and assist in tax planning and compliance.
• Prepare reports, reconciliations, and responses for management, tax authorities, and auditors.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 2‑3 years of experience in indirect tax compliance, audit support, and process improvement.
• Proficiency in English (B2‑C1 level).
• Detail‑oriented with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
