Industrial Engineer – Manufacturing Systems

About the role

Join Aptiv’s Industrial Engineering team to develop and implement manufacturing systems for the DCS Mexico plants. You will ensure new products are produced safely, efficiently, and at the lowest possible cost while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Promote a safe work environment and ensure compliance with safety and ergonomics guidelines.
• Develop manufacturing systems for new products that meet quality, safety, and customer requirements (CPK, R&R, Takt Time).
• Design plant layout, engineering operating system, time‑and‑motion studies, Kaizen activities, ergonomics solutions, operating methods, visual aids, and packaging methods.
• Enter and maintain data in SAP and coordinate MQ1 functionality validation.
• Start‑up and implement manufacturing systems according to BOP, DFM, MSD, safety, and ergonomics standards.
• Meet PPAP dates, release new processes/tools, and provide training for engineers and operators.
• Support continuous improvement and cost‑reduction projects through ICIM.
• Manage engineering activities in line with the Engineering Operating System (EOS).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• At least 4 years of experience as an Industrial Engineer or in a similar role.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
• Familiarity with core tools such as Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), PFMEA, PPAP, and Control Plans.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Experience using SAP and AutoCAD.
• Ability to interpret Turtle Diagrams and operating systems.
• Understanding of PFMEA AIAG‑VDA, standardized work, ergonomics, and safety.
• Experience with GSD (Release) processes.
