Interior Trim Design & Release Engineer

About the role

The Interior Trim Design & Release Engineer will lead the design, development, validation, and release of body interior components for assigned vehicle programs. Working on‑site in GTBC México, you will ensure that every design decision supports manufacturing efficiency, cost optimization, quality, craftsmanship, ergonomics, and overall vehicle performance.

Key responsibilities

• Design and validate interior trim parts to meet legal regulations, corporate requirements, and manufacturing constraints.
• Develop master sections, create quote packages, and support sourcing activities.
• Lead technical design reviews, CAE studies, and robustness engineering disciplines (DFMEA, P‑Diagram, SCCAF, etc.).
• Release parts in Ford’s BOM management systems (FEDE BOM & WERS) and manage change control throughout the product life‑cycle.
• Collaborate with studio teams from concept to final design, providing 2D/3D feedback and resolving fit/finish issues.
• Apply Six Sigma and 8D methodologies for issue resolution and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in automotive interior design and release engineering.
• Strong understanding of GPDS processes and robustness engineering tools.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with purchasing, finance, and manufacturing teams.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
