Junior Automation Engineer – Operations

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Junior Automation Engineer to support operational excellence across MC&O. You will design, build, and maintain automation solutions that reduce manual effort and improve service reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain lightweight automation tools and scripts, primarily using Python.
• Automate monitoring hygiene, alert noise reduction, metrics generation, reporting, and workflow integration.
• Identify high‑friction operational processes and transform them into repeatable, automated routines.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, and support teams to uncover automation opportunities.
• Validate automation outcomes with clear metrics to demonstrate improvements in speed, quality, and reliability.
• Maintain well‑documented, production‑grade code and continuously improve automation practices.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience writing and maintaining production‑grade scripts, preferably in Python.
• Experience automating operational workflows and integrating with APIs or internal tools.
• Basic understanding of operational monitoring, alerting, and reliability concepts.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and eagerness to learn automation best practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
