Labor Counsel

About the role

We are seeking a Labor Counsel to provide expert legal guidance on labor and employment matters. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with Mexican labor legislation, represent the company before labor authorities, and help manage employment‑related risks.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on labor and employment issues in line with applicable laws.
• Manage labor litigation and coordinate strategies with external counsel.
• Represent the company before labor authorities and administrative bodies.
• Oversee labor inspections and prepare required documentation.
• Draft, review, and negotiate employment‑related contracts, policies, and agreements.
• Support internal stakeholders on employee relations, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
• Assess legal risks and propose practical solutions to minimize exposure.
• Monitor legislative developments and ensure internal compliance.
• Coordinate with external law firms and evaluate the quality of their services.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law and admission to practice law in Mexico.
• Extensive experience in Mexican labor and employment law, including litigation and regulatory compliance.
• Proven ability to advise private‑sector organizations on labor matters.
• Experience managing labor litigation and interacting with labor authorities.
• Preferable experience supervising external law firms and supporting labor inspections.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Mexican Federal Labor Law and related regulations.
• Understanding of labor litigation procedures and dispute‑resolution mechanisms.
• Familiarity with labor inspections, outsourcing, and specialized services regulations.
• Ability to draft and review employment‑related legal documents and agreements.
