About the role
The HR/LR Business Partner – Level 6 is a frontline strategic and operational partner for plant leadership, employees, and union representatives. Working on‑site full‑time in a manufacturing environment, you will help maintain a stable, compliant, and productive workplace by addressing employee concerns, interpreting labor agreements, and supporting core HR/LR processes.
Key responsibilities
- Partner with plant leadership to provide HR/LR guidance, coaching, and consultation on employee and labor matters.
- Administer and interpret national and local labor agreements, HR policies, and plant practices.
- Build and sustain productive relationships with union representatives and facilitate labor‑management interaction.
- Identify, assess, and address employee concerns and workplace risks early to prevent escalation.
- Support performance management cycles, including mid‑year and year‑end reviews.
- Lead or support headcount reviews, workforce actions, and employee transactions using Workday and Kronos/UKG.
- Manage routine people processes such as transfers, attendance, and documentation.
- Participate in labor and leadership forums, providing timely follow‑up and clear communication.
- Promote a culture of respect, accountability, compliance, and operational continuity.
Required profile
- Strong relationship‑building skills with leaders, employees, and union stakeholders.
- Sound situational judgment and decision‑making in labor and employee matters.
- Ability to work effectively in a unionized manufacturing environment.
- Professionalism and balance when navigating operational, employee, and leadership needs.
Required skills
- Labor contract interpretation (national and local agreements).
- HR policy interpretation.
- Performance management processes.
- Timekeeping and workforce systems: Workday, Kronos/UKG.
- Knowledge of workplace protocols, security procedures, and plant practices.
