Lead Server Systems Engineer (Windows/Linux, VMware)

About the role

FICO’s Private Cloud Services team is looking for a Lead Engineer to own and advance its server and cloud infrastructure. You will work with Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux platforms hosted on VMware, driving security, compliance and automation in a 24/7 production environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, deploy and support VMware‑hosted Windows Server and RHEL environments.
• Lead vulnerability management, patching (WSUS, Satellite) and compliance scanning (Qualys).
• Implement host‑based intrusion detection using Osquery, Splunk and CrowdStrike.
• Own incident resolution, problem management and change management processes.
• Design and deliver automation scripts and Ansible playbooks for operational tasks.
• Develop automated compliance scripts for AD, Red Hat Identity Manager, CyberArk, PKI and core FICO products.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship and act as escalation point for junior engineers.
• Create and maintain run‑books, policies and procedural documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Lead Systems Engineer with deep expertise in Windows Server (2016‑2025) and/or Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
• Strong background in VMware virtualization.
• Hands‑on experience with vulnerability and compliance tools such as Qualys, WSUS and Satellite.
• Familiarity with audit standards (SSAE16‑SOC2, PCI DSS, HIPAA, SOX) and providing audit evidence.
• Experience with Ansible, scripting (Shell, Python, Ruby or YAML) and host‑based detection tools.
