Legal Compliance Specialist – Consumer Protection

About the role

Amazon Mexico’s Legal Department seeks a Legal Compliance Specialist to translate regulatory mandates into actionable corporate policies. The role blends deep legal research with front‑line execution, protecting consumers, resolving disputes, and ensuring timely redress when compliance gaps arise.

Key responsibilities

• Research Mexican laws and regulations, develop and implement compliance actions, and advise legal and business teams.
• Balance customer and seller needs against Amazon’s compliance obligations; monitor existing controls and handle appeals from the Compliance Operations program.
• Scale compliance solutions across organizations and geographies, collaborating with global legal and operations partners.
• Identify systemic compliance gaps from customer complaints, escalate to Litigation, and propose remediation plans.
• Conduct legal reviews of outbound communications related to consumer protection claims to ensure regulatory alignment.

Required profile

• Law degree (Licenciatura en Derecho) from a COPAES‑accredited Mexican university.
• 3+ years post‑qualification experience in regulatory compliance or corporate law.
• Fluent in Spanish (written and verbal) with strong drafting and negotiation abilities.
• Self‑motivated, excellent organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑moving environment.
