Legal Counsel – Manufacturing Operations

About the role

Midea Group is expanding its state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing hub in Mexico and seeks a pragmatic, business‑oriented Legal Counsel to support the Fabric & Floor Care plant in San Luis Potosí. The role provides day‑to‑day legal coverage, ensuring compliance, managing contracts, and handling labor matters under the direction of HQ Legal and local Operations.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate EPC, equipment purchase, supply‑chain, logistics, and facility service agreements.
• Handle individual and collective labor disputes, represent the company before local conciliation boards, support CBA administration, and participate in routine union negotiations.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and municipal regulations, providing guidance on IMMEX, VAT, customs procedures, and environmental permits.
• Manage external law firms for specialized litigation and non‑litigation matters, controlling costs and timelines.
• Report legal risks and compliance status to HQ Legal and deliver actionable advice to the Factory Operations Head.

Required profile

• Law degree with an active Mexican professional license (Cédula Profesional).
• Minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience, preferably in‑house or external counsel for manufacturing, industrial, or construction sectors.
• Strong knowledge of Mexican contract law, labor law, and corporate/commercial regulations.
• Familiarity with foreign trade/customs (IMMEX) is a strong plus.
• Native or bilingual Spanish with professional working proficiency in English.
