About the role
As a Mainframe Console Operator at Kyndryl, you will monitor and control enterprise mainframe and distributed systems from a central operations console. You will help ensure system availability, respond to alerts, and maintain stable day‑to‑day operations for critical infrastructure.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor mainframe and distributed environments using the central console to guarantee availability and stability.
- Respond to system alerts within defined response times and follow escalation procedures.
- Track system availability, incidents, and operational events, providing accurate reporting and documentation.
- Operate and monitor platforms such as z/OS Console, monitoring tools, Tandem, and Unisys systems.
- Follow operational runbooks and standard procedures, collaborating with higher‑level support teams as needed.
Required profile
- Motivated to grow technical skills and support reliable system operations.
- Strong attention to detail and good communication abilities.
- Comfortable working in a structured operations environment with clear procedures.
Required skills
- Experience with IT infrastructure and system monitoring concepts (1+ year).
- Willingness to learn mainframe console tools such as z/OS and Omegamon.
- Ability to monitor alerts, follow procedures, and escalate issues appropriately.
