Maintenance Area Manager, Reliability Maintenance Engineering

About the role

Amazon is seeking a motivated, customer‑focused leader to manage a team of technicians within the Reliability Maintenance Engineering area. The role focuses on safety, equipment availability, and continuous improvement across the Global Amazon Warehouse & Delivery Network.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, support and mentor a team of technicians, ensuring safe, standardised and efficient work practices.
• Collaborate with the wider network to leverage technical expertise and develop solutions.
• Assist the Reliability Engineering Manager with safety and statutory compliance programs.
• Implement preventative‑maintenance standards to maximise equipment uptime for internal customers.
• Organise and direct training programs to maintain adequate technical coverage for assigned shifts.
• Coordinate local projects and support broader business‑review level initiatives.
• Work on shift as needed to stay connected with daily operations.

Required profile

• 5+ years of people‑management experience, preferably managing engineers.
• Background in electrical, mechanical or controls engineering.
• Hands‑on experience with automated equipment such as packaging machinery, sortation and conveyor systems.
• Demonstrated ability to work to health and safety standards and regulations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Fluent written and spoken English.
