Manufacturing Engineer – CNC & Process Improvement

About the role

Caterpillar is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support machining operations on the shop floor. You will translate technical analysis into practical, data‑driven recommendations that improve safety, quality, cost and delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Provide engineering guidance and resolve technical problems in day‑to‑day machining operations.
• Identify, evaluate and implement process and equipment improvements to boost safety, quality, cost efficiency and throughput.
• Monitor equipment and process reliability; lead root‑cause analysis and corrective actions for chronic issues.
• Analyze and execute Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) ensuring timely, accurate implementation.
• Support planning, development, operation and maintenance of manufacturing equipment, tooling and processes.
• Apply Lean manufacturing tools to reduce waste, improve flow and standard work.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with production, quality, maintenance, supply chain and leadership teams.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and quality standards while driving continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics or related field (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing concepts, machining processes and production systems.
• Hands‑on experience with cast‑iron machining, tooling selection, fixturing and work‑holding; equivalent experience considered.
• Advanced English proficiency for global collaboration.
