Materials Buyer

About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated, self‑starting Materials Buyer to manage the procurement of direct materials from global suppliers. The role focuses on strategic sourcing, cost reduction, and maintaining supply‑chain integrity for high‑precision components such as castings, stampings, and machined parts.

Key responsibilities

• Procure direct materials for manufacturing, ensuring quality, cost, and delivery targets.
• Develop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives, including RFQ/RFP processes and market research.
• Manage and expand an overseas supplier base across Asia and Europe, handling Incoterms and international logistics.
• Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM).
• Utilize ERP systems (SAP MM, Oracle, or similar) to process purchases and track performance.
• Analyze procurement data with advanced Excel (pivot tables, macros) and Power BI for KPI monitoring.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, International Trade, Supply Chain, or Business Administration.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in direct material purchasing within a manufacturing environment (automotive or industrial preferred).
• Proven track record managing international suppliers and understanding of Incoterms.
• Advanced professional proficiency in English (C1 level) for communication with global headquarters and vendors.

Required skills

• Technical interpretation of engineering drawings and BOM management.
• Strategic sourcing and RFQ/RFP execution.
• ERP proficiency – expert‑level SAP (MM module) or Oracle.
• Advanced MS Excel (pivot tables, macros) and Power BI data visualization.
• Fluent English (C1).
