Mechanical Design Engineer – Production Tooling

About the role

Bosch is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to design, improve, validate and release mechanical tooling and machinery for production processes at its plant in Rio Bravo, Mexico. The role combines hands‑on mechanical design with the management of drawing databases and support for automation projects.

Key responsibilities

• Design, improve and release mechanical tooling and fixtures for production.
• Develop, upgrade and integrate machinery, including cobots and automation solutions.
• Define and update plant procedures for tooling review and release.
• Apply design requirements based on DMD directions.
• Administer the mechanical drawing database and provide technical support to its users.
• Maintain and store drawing documentation, ensuring it is up‑to‑date.
• Support machinery automation, upgrades, integration and process improvements.

Required profile

• Professional degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design or machining‑shop activities.
• Customer‑oriented, analytical, structured, team‑player and proactive attitude.
• High sense of responsibility, urgency and willingness to travel and provide after‑hours support when needed.

Required skills

• Mechanical design software – SolidWorks.
• Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
• Knowledge of machining materials and surface treatments.
