Mechanical Engineer – Design (Skid Packages)

About the role

Flowserve is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design complex 3D/CAD drawings and Bill of Materials for compressor and vacuum skid packages. You will work on skid‑mounted liquid‑ring pumps, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, valves, instrumentation and related equipment, ensuring compliance with global engineering standards and safety directives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and prepare drawings, P&ID’s, layouts and BOMs from engineering specifications.
• Review and interpret design specifications, select appropriate materials and components.
• Create manufacturing documents, SAP master data and export‑control information.
• Validate functional feasibility with Product Engineering and Project Management.
• Operate 3D CAD (SolidWorks) and PLM (Windchill) environments.
• Manage drawing and BOM revisions due to engineering, customer or manufacturing changes.
• Support customer‑specific calculations for steel construction and piping.
• Select and specify plant components (valves, instruments, pipes) for procurement.
• Ensure conformity with directives such as Machinery, Explosion Protection and Pressure Equipment.
• Prepare RFQs and review supplier technical offers.
• Design tanks and pressure vessels using engineering calculations.

Required profile

• Strong mechanical aptitude with meticulous attention to detail.
• Experience in designing skid‑mounted systems and pressure equipment.
• Ability to work within strict HSE/HFE requirements.
• Effective collaboration with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• SolidWorks (3D CAD) proficiency.
• Windchill PLM usage.
• SAP master data creation.
• Knowledge of Machinery Directive, Explosion Protection and Pressure Equipment Directive.
• Competence in creating P&ID’s, BOMs and engineering drawings.
• Capability to perform pressure vessel and steel construction calculations.
