HVAC Product Engineer

About the role

Johnson Controls, a global leader in thermal management and building systems, is hiring an HVAC Product Engineer in Torreón. The engineer supports product development, ensures compliance with industry standards and drives cost-effective solutions, working with global design centers and cross-functional teams to introduce new products, implement engineering changes and improve product performance and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Keep manufacturing information aligned with global design standards and compliant with AHRI, ASME, PED, ETL and UL requirements.
• Lead product engineering for new product introductions and implement engineering changes while maintaining product documentation.
• Manage and update master data, bills of materials and engineering drawings.
• Provide production support and troubleshoot design, quality, supplier and process issues.
• Take part in Kaizen events and propose and run cost-reduction projects.
• Evaluate product improvements and review material specifications and standards, managing deviation proposals.
• Give feedback to the global design team on assembly, factory and manufacturing capabilities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience as a Product Engineer.
• Fluent English, with strong written and oral communication skills.
• Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize and execute projects.

Required skills

• Engineering change control, bills of materials and drawing revisions.
• Interpretation of engineering specifications for mechanical and pressure components.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems and control systems (electrical diagrams).
• Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Preferred: SAP or other ERP, PTC Creo or similar 3D design software, Core Tools, Windchill PLM.
