Production Supervisor

About the role

Johnson Controls, a global leader in smart, healthy and sustainable buildings, is looking for a Production Supervisor. The supervisor ensures the department runs profitably and efficiently by properly using labour, materials, equipment and space, and directly supervises production team members in line with company policy and applicable laws.

Key responsibilities

• Lead team members performing production operations and keep labour within the department at authorised levels.
• Handle orientation and on-the-job training of team members in the safe and efficient use of equipment.
• Evaluate probationary team members on attendance, performance and potential, and recommend candidates for hire, promotion or release.
• Ensure compliance with methods, quality standards, safety regulations and production standards, taking corrective action when needed.
• Analyse the area continuously for better production methods and cost controls, and recommend improvements to the production manager.
• Consult with team members on on-the-job problems, document issues and provide action plans to leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Management or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in manufacturing.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred

• Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Proven track record of process improvement and cost reduction.
