Medical Science Liaison Oncology

About the role

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) – Oncology is a field‑based medical professional who spends the majority of time (approximately 80 %) engaging with scientific leaders and key decision makers. The role focuses on non‑promotional, peer‑to‑peer exchange of up‑to‑date scientific and clinical information to support optimal patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Engage in non‑promotional scientific discussions with scientific leaders (SLs) and key decision makers (KDMs) on oncology therapies, clinical data, and pipeline developments.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of therapeutic area, major studies, and product information from both the company and competitors.
• Represent the Value & Implementation Global Medical and Scientific Affairs (V&I GMSA) at local or regional medical congresses, symposia, and other non‑promotional events.
• Respond to unsolicited requests for medical, scientific, or pipeline information from external experts.
• Collaborate with internal medical, access, and health‑system teams to develop and execute scientific‑leader engagement plans.
• Support identification of investigators for sponsored clinical studies, local data generation, and investigator‑led programs.
• Provide on‑label and disease‑state scientific training to internal colleagues when requested.

Required profile

• Medical professional with a strong background in oncology and therapeutic‑area expertise.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with external scientific experts.
• Excellent communication skills for peer‑to‑peer scientific exchange.
• Ability to synthesize field insights and convey actionable medical information to internal stakeholders.
