MES Champion / Modeler

About the role

ABB is looking for an MES Champion / Modeler in Juarez, reporting to the Global Project Planning & Controls Manager. The role supports the implementation of a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and acts as the local technical and functional reference for MES, the main interface between the factory and the Global MES organization. It combines hands-on MES modelling with project management and Agile coordination. The work model is hybrid.

Key responsibilities

• Apply Agile methodologies to organize and manage local MES development activities, including the sprint backlog, priorities, planning and follow-up.
• Collect and translate factory requirements into MES solutions, and perform MES modelling and configuration following global standards and Golden Examples.
• Lead local MES projects from requirements definition through implementation and deployment.
• Coordinate the local MES team and technical contributors, and monitor progress, risks, dependencies and resource availability.
• Coordinate development, testing, deployment and issue resolution, and promote reuse, documentation and knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Information Management, computer systems, business engineering or similar.
• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or computer science-related role.
• Proven track record of backend development for mid-size projects and strong backend programming capabilities.
• Experience with discrete manufacturing and production control, specifically MES/ECS systems.
• Ability to analyze and synthesize information from multiple stakeholders, and strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent English and availability to travel, possibly internationally.

Required skills

• Knowledge of MES and ERP systems, materials management and production control.
• Critical Manufacturing MES and SAP preferred.
