Performance Engineer / Tester (Automation & Cloud)

About the role

We are looking for a Performance Engineer or Tester to design, implement, and maintain automated end‑to‑end (E2E) test suites that simulate real‑world client operations on Google Cloud. The role involves building test infrastructure, integrating performance data, and documenting processes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automated E2E tests for various repository formats (Apt, Yum, Go, Ruby).
• Automate provisioning of Google Cloud resources (VMs, Service Accounts) within the Overground project and manage repository lifecycle programmatically.
• Execute tests against Artifact Registry remote and virtual repositories, evaluating performance across regional, cross‑regional, and multi‑regional configurations.
• Deliver automated code into Google3 and ensure reliable execution in cloud environments.
• Integrate test results with BigQuery and create performance dashboards in Looker, adding per‑repository metrics.
• Visualize E2E measurement trends over time using Looker or equivalent tools.
• Produce comprehensive technical documentation for running and maintaining the test suite.

Required profile

• Strong ability to program in Go, the primary language for test automation.
• Proficiency with Google Cloud Platform and the gcloud CLI for resource creation and automation.
• Willingness and capability to learn repository format configurations (Apt, Yum, Go, Ruby) as needed.
• Optional familiarity with Terraform, Overground, Looker, BigQuery, and GCE is a plus.
