Plant Controller

About the role

Core Molding Technologies is seeking a Plant Controller to lead all financial operations for its Monterrey manufacturing facility located in General Escobedo, Nuevo León. The role is responsible for accurate financial reporting, effective cost control, regulatory compliance, and providing strategic financial support to plant leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all plant financial functions including general accounting, cost accounting, AP, AR, tax, cash and capital management.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Drive annual budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
• Analyze financial performance, explain variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Monitor manufacturing costs (labor, material, overhead) to improve profitability.
• Oversee inventory valuation, cycle counts, physical inventories and internal controls.
• Analyze and track capital expenditures and investment performance.
• Partner with Operations to evaluate production performance, capacity utilization and cost‑improvement opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP, Mexican NIF, tax regulations and company policies.
• Support internal and external audits and strengthen internal controls.
• Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives that enhance financial and operational performance.
• Identify financial risks and propose mitigation strategies.
• Coach, develop and manage the plant finance team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA, CMA or equivalent preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive financial leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong background in cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and inventory controls.
• Experience supporting plant operations and senior leadership.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (Epicor, Oracle, SAP, AS400 or similar).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous‑improvement principles.
• Bilingual English and Spanish.
