Plant Controller

About the role

The Plant Controller will act as the primary finance business partner for Acuity’s manufacturing facility in Matamoros. The role provides financial guidance, operational insight and performance analysis to plant leadership while maintaining a hands‑on presence on the shop floor.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with plant leadership to improve financial awareness and support operational decision‑making.
• Lead the monthly financial close process, including account reconciliations and preparation of financial statements.
• Develop, analyze and report operational and financial KPIs on a regular basis.
• Prepare annual financial targets, support budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Participate in daily, weekly and monthly production and operational meetings.
• Drive continuous improvement of plant financial performance.
• Build and maintain financial models and reports using Excel and ERP systems.
• Support cost accounting activities and manufacturing financial analysis.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent (required).
• 5+ years of accounting/finance experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing or maquiladora environment.
• Cost accounting experience.
• Strong business partnering and influencing skills.
• Excellent communication skills, able to explain financial concepts to non‑finance audiences.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
• Cost accounting.
