Principal Statistical Programmer (Clinical Trials)

About the role

The Principal Statistical Programmer ensures the accuracy and integrity of statistical programming across clinical projects. The role covers developing and validating complex datasets and outputs, collaborating with cross-functional teams, giving technical guidance on statistical methodology and programming best practices, and mentoring junior programmers. It is a 100% home-based position.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and validate complex datasets and outputs using SAS, in line with CDISC standards such as ADaM and SDTM
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise statistical programming processes and improve efficiency and accuracy
• Provide technical guidance on statistical methodologies for clinical trial projects and departments
• Mentor and guide junior programmers
• Contribute to continuous improvement of programming workflows and departmental standards
• Ensure high-quality deliverables by following best practices and protocols
• Lead initiatives to improve programming tools and techniques
• Partner with leadership to align programming objectives with organisational goals

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Computer Science or a related field
• 2+ years working with efficacy analysis (ADaM datasets and TLFs) and/or 4+ years on ADaM statistical programming for clinical trials
• Experience in Immunology or Neuroscience is highly valued
• Advanced English
• Able to lead and manage programming teams, maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, manage time and resources under tight deadlines, and communicate clearly in writing and verbally
