Procurement Category Manager

About the role

The Procurement Category Manager will lead end‑to‑end sourcing activities for a defined category, sub‑category, country or business area. You will translate global and regional strategies into actionable sourcing plans, drive cost‑saving initiatives and ensure compliance with Novartis procurement standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize and execute procurement projects, managing scope, resources, budgets and timelines.
• Support the conversion of global, regional or local category strategies into sourcing plans and implementation activities.
• Execute sourcing plans to meet category savings targets, including market analysis, RFPs, supplier evaluation and fact‑based negotiations.
• Provide input on category strategy, supplier segmentation and sourcing opportunities.
• Manage supplier relationships, monitor KPIs and resolve performance issues.
• Lead the Source‑to‑Contract process from strategy definition to contract hand‑over.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to align procurement actions with business objectives.

Required profile

• 5–7 years of procurement experience covering end‑to‑end sourcing, supplier selection, contracting and category support.
• Operations management and execution discipline.
• Basic financial and commercial understanding with data‑analysis capability.
• Proven stakeholder‑management experience across business functions, including interaction with senior leaders.
• Relevant industry or market exposure for the assigned category.
• Ability to work collaboratively across regional and local multidisciplinary teams.
• Fluency in Spanish and English.
