Procurement Counsel

About the role

Mixpanel is seeking a motivated, collaborative, and business‑minded Procurement Counsel to join its Legal team. Reporting to the Sr. Corporate Counsel, you will act as a trusted partner, overseeing and negotiating key vendor deals while supporting internal stakeholders across marketing, engineering, and finance.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including software vendor contracts, professional services, equipment, data licenses, NDAs, contractor engagements, and event sponsorships.
• Evaluate risk factors and provide practical legal advice on agreement structure, approval processes, and company policies.
• Assess and advise on AI‑related risks in vendor contracts, covering model training, data usage rights, output ownership, indemnification, accuracy, liability, and regulatory compliance.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, ensuring contracts align with business needs.

Required profile

• In‑house legal experience with global businesses, focusing on commercial transactions and contract negotiation.
• Proven ability to create efficient processes and execute day‑to‑day procurement activities.
• Strong analytical skills to anticipate legal issues and provide timely guidance.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross‑functional partnership.
