Quality Control Specialist - Low Voltage Switchboards

About the role

ABB is hiring a Quality Control Specialist in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, for its Low Voltage team. The role reports to the Quality Control Specialist and is onsite. You will execute, document and validate functional, safety and performance electrical tests on low- and medium-voltage switchboards, ensuring compliance with UL, IEEE and ANSI standards and customer specifications before products are released.

Key responsibilities

• Perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
• Run dielectric (Hi-Pot), continuity, insulation resistance, operation sequence and functional tests.
• Verify power, control, protection and metering circuits.
• Carry out visual and dimensional inspections against electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Check internal wiring against electrical schematics and diagrams.
• Configure and verify protective relays and metering equipment.
• Generate technical test reports and quality documentation.
• Identify nonconformities and propose corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety procedures and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements.
• Work with Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality teams to support product release.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechatronic or Electronics Engineering.
• 1+ years of experience in similar roles.
• Knowledge of ANSI, UL and IEEE standards.
• Experience with electrical safety controls and hands-on relay programming and control systems.
• Knowledge of root cause analysis methods and tools.
• Intermediate English; strong teamwork, problem-solving, leadership and communication skills.
