EHS Specialist (Machinery Safety)

About the role

ABB is looking for an experienced Machinery Safety & Industrial Specialist to lead machine safety standards, ergonomic initiatives and industrial hygiene programs in its manufacturing site in San Luis Potosi. Reporting to the HSE Manager, the role ensures legal compliance, protects employees and drives safe manufacturing practices, working closely with Engineering, Maintenance, Production and EHS. It is an onsite position.

Key responsibilities

• Report HSE incidents to management and stakeholders and guide incident investigations to improve risk mitigation.
• Share lessons learned and best practices with management and employees.
• Drive behavioral change through local implementation of group-wide performance improvement programs.
• Coordinate machine risk assessments in line with international ISO standards.
• Approve machinery safety and ergonomic requirements before commissioning new equipment or production line changes.
• Lead projects on the installation, modification, maintenance and validation of manufacturing equipment.
• Ensure compliance with legal and corporate standards on machinery safety, ergonomics and industrial hygiene.
• Identify and implement actions to reduce machinery and ergonomic risks, and promote continuous improvement in workplace safety.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree.
• At least 3 years of experience in machinery safety, ergonomics or industrial safety within a manufacturing environment.
• Medium English level, with experience leading technical projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of machine risk assessments based on international standards, and experience with machinery installation, maintenance or equipment validation projects.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of machine risk assessments under international standards.
• Management of Change knowledge is a strong advantage.
• Knowledge of ISO 45001, 14001 and 12100.
