Advanced Manufacturing Engineer - Research and Industrialization

About the role

The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (AME) is responsible for delivering all advanced manufacturing deliverables for a program that develops and launches a manufacturing process. The position is based at the Lerma plant.

Key responsibilities

• Develop manufacturing processes through detailed engineering analysis of design for assembly and manufacturing (DFAM), logistics and contingency planning, process flow, labor planning and line balance, material flow, plant layout and ergonomic analysis
• Support other programs in the region and prepare and present program revisions with the SDT
• Specify, purchase and accept production equipment and tooling, and validate the manufacturing process against labor targets, production output and quality standards (OEE)
• Analyze geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T) and own the APQP manufacturing deliverables
• Lead ramp-up, problem solving and stabilization, and run cross-functional manufacturability reviews with designers

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (industrial or mechanical preferred)
• Bilingual English/Spanish
• At least 5 years of industry experience; automotive interiors experience preferred
• Experience with seating products desired

Required skills

• PFMEA development and PFMA
• MODAPTS or equivalent training/certification (wished)
• Statistical tools: SPC, MSA, capability study, DOE
• CAD drawing of 2D layouts and strong computer skills
• Project management, leadership with suppliers and internal teams, and PLC knowledge and programming (desirable)
