Quality Engineer – Manufacturing

About the role

The Quality Engineer will ensure that products and processes at the El Carmen Manufacturing Facility meet all company and regulatory standards. This role drives continuous improvement, supports new product introductions, and collaborates across production, engineering, and supply‑chain teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures and systems.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis of quality issues and execute corrective and preventative actions (CAPA).
• Perform internal and external audits to verify compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and other regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and analyze quality data, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply‑chain teams to embed quality into all product development stages.
• Train and mentor production staff on quality best practices and standards.
• Manage non‑conforming materials and products, ensuring proper disposition and documentation.
• Participate in new product introduction (NPI) processes to ensure design for quality and manufacturability.
• Prepare and present quality reports to management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Metallurgy, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or related field).
• 3+ years of experience in a Quality Engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.
• Proficiency with quality tools and methodologies: Lean, Six Sigma, SPC, FMEA, 8D.
• Experience using statistical software (e.g., Minitab, JMP).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
