Reliability Maintenance Engineering Area Manager

About the role

Amazon is seeking a motivated, customer‑focused leader to manage the Reliability Maintenance Engineering team. You will be responsible for ensuring safety, high equipment availability, and effective preventative maintenance across our global warehouse and delivery network.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, support and mentor a team of technicians, fostering a safe, standardised and efficient work environment.
• Collaborate with the wider network to leverage technical expertise and develop solutions.
• Assist the Reliability Engineering Manager in implementing, recording and auditing safety and statutory compliance programs.
• Drive preventative maintenance initiatives to maximise equipment uptime for internal customers.
• Organise training programmes to ensure adequate technical coverage for all shifts.
• Plan and execute local projects or support broader business‑review projects as assigned.
• Work on shift rotations to stay connected with daily operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 5+ years of people‑management experience, preferably managing engineers.
• Hands‑on experience in electrical, mechanical or controls engineering.
• Experience with automated equipment such as packaging machinery, sortation and conveyor systems.
• Demonstrated ability to work to health and safety standards and regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Fluent written and spoken English.
