Remote Controller – Guadalajara

About the role

The Launch Box, LLC is seeking a proactive Controller to lead accounting functions for multiple US client companies from Guadalajara. This remote position combines hands‑on leadership with strategic oversight in a fast‑paced startup environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual close processes and ensure accurate financial reporting across entities.
• Oversee general accounting operations including AP/AR, revenue recognition, compensation and payroll.
• Prepare and review reconciliations and financial statements in compliance with US GAAP.
• Manage intercompany accounting, transfer pricing and inter‑entity transactions between Mexico and the US.
• Design, document and continuously improve accounting processes, controls and workflows.
• Implement accounting controls from scratch and conduct internal audits.
• Collaborate with external auditors and support annual audit processes.
• Ensure compliance with Mexican accounting and tax regulations (SAT, IMSS).
• Provide financial analysis, forecasting support and ad‑hoc reporting for leadership.
• Mentor accounting staff and drive accountability within the team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• 7+ years progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a controllership role or 3+ years managing accounting teams.
• Strong foundation in US GAAP and financial reporting.
• Extensive experience with inter‑entity transactions, transfer pricing and startup environments.
• High attention to detail, strong analytical skills and ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
