SAP Technical Release & DevOps Expert

About the role

We are seeking a Technical Release & DevOps Expert with deep SAP ALM knowledge and hands‑on experience in ABAP and SAP Fiori/UI5. The role ensures reliable, compliant releases for SAP S/4HANA and SAP BTP while driving continuous improvement of our DevOps toolchain and automation practices.

Key responsibilities

• Support technical release management for SAP S/4HANA and SAP BTP, ensuring GxP compliance and transparent risk communication.
• Operate and continuously improve the SAP DevOps and ALM toolchain, including SAP Solution Manager, Cloud Transport Management/gCTS, ServiceNow, Tricentis Tosca, Signavio and Celonis.
• Automate release, change, test and deployment processes and promote CI/CD concepts.
• Leverage AI‑powered tools such as ChatGPT, Claude or Copilot to enhance innovation and efficiency.
• Provide technical support to development teams on ABAP, OO ABAP, enhancements, transports and SAP Fiori/UI5 lifecycle.
• Participate in post‑release reviews, capture lessons learned and drive measurable quality improvements.
• Collaborate with Release Managers, System Owners, Test Engineers and external IT Operations partners, including RISE with SAP.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in SAP release management, DevOps or technical delivery, preferably in a regulated (GxP) environment.

Required skills

• Hands‑on ABAP development (OO ABAP, enhancements, transports, dependencies).
• Strong knowledge of SAP Fiori/UI5 lifecycle and deployment.
• Experience with SAP Solution Manager (Focused Build, SolDoc, Change & Release, Test Management).
• Proficiency in Cloud Transport Management / gCTS.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow, Tricentis Tosca, Signavio and Celonis.
• Understanding of CI/CD concepts and automation tools.
• Comfortable using AI‑assisted tools such as ChatGPT, Claude or Copilot.
