About the role
The Secondary Social Editor will lead the design, development and quality assurance of printed, digital and hybrid educational materials for secondary social sciences. Working within Springer Nature’s Macmillan Education brand, you will ensure curricular alignment, academic relevance and methodological innovation for teachers and students.
Key responsibilities
- Design instructional architecture, create curriculum maps, progression frameworks and didactic sequences aligned with current study plans.
- Develop competency‑based, active‑learning proposals that incorporate socio‑emotional skills, critical thinking and contemporary pedagogical trends such as project‑based learning, inclusion and STEAM.
- Manage the full editorial workflow from concept to final layout, coordinating authors, technical reviewers, style editors, designers and external suppliers.
- Oversee style editing, graphic quality and format adaptation for print, web and mobile platforms.
- Optimize timelines, costs and resources using editorial systems (e.g., WoodWing) and AI‑supported tools, ensuring adherence to schedules and quality standards.
Required profile
- Proven experience designing and delivering secondary‑level educational content.
- Strong understanding of curriculum standards and pedagogical best practices.
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Attention to academic rigor, conceptual clarity and didactic coherence.
