Security Engineer

About the role

The Security Engineer will develop and execute security controls, defenses and counter‑measures to protect Cisco products and cloud services. You will work within the Cisco Secure Development Lifecycle and collaborate with business units to identify, assess and remediate security risks.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain security features for products, applications and cloud solutions.
• Perform vulnerability, risk and threat assessments, secure configuration reviews and root‑cause analyses.
• Research emerging cyber‑threats and evaluate third‑party security tools.
• Develop security hardening guidelines for infrastructure, platforms and build environments.
• Create and track security metrics, detection rules, alerting logic and automation workflows.
• Run and document penetration tests, support incident response and coordinate remediation activities.
• Provide security engineering recommendations and resolve integration and testing issues across Cisco business units.

Required profile

• Experience with security assessments, vulnerability management and threat analysis.
• Familiarity with Cisco Secure Development Lifecycle or similar secure development processes.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision on medium‑complexity tasks.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret security test results and incident data.
