Senior Accountant – Guadalajara

About the role

The Senior Accountant will support the accounting operations of a growing retirement community in Guadalajara. This hands‑on role is ideal for a motivated professional who thrives in fast‑paced environments, takes ownership of deliverables and consistently meets deadlines.

Key responsibilities

• Perform full‑cycle accounting activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals and month‑end close.
• Prepare and review balance‑sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Analyze financial transactions to identify discrepancies or unusual variances.
• Support monthly, quarterly and year‑end close processes.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Assist with financial statement preparation and reporting.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Collaborate with team members to resolve accounting issues and improve processes.
• Escalate risks, blockers or missing information proactively.
• Contribute to process improvements and operational efficiencies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Accounting.
• Professional license (Cédula Profesional).
• 5‑8 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a public accounting firm or small practice.
• Strong full‑cycle accounting background with hands‑on month‑end close experience.
