Senior Accountant (Hybrid)

About the role

SimplePractice is looking for a seasoned Senior Accountant to own the month‑end close, audit preparation and financial analysis for a fast‑growing health‑tech company. The role combines deep GAAP expertise with hands‑on NetSuite experience to ensure accurate, timely reporting and to support strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Execute monthly close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations and flux analyses.
• Prepare revenue‑related month‑end entries and reconciliations.
• Identify and implement process improvements to accelerate close timelines.
• Support the US accounting team with group sales billing, collections and related reporting.
• Provide clear flux commentary for balance‑sheet and income‑statement accounts.
• Accurately accrue expenses and maintain strong internal controls.
• Assist ERP enhancements and system implementations.
• Develop, measure and report key performance indicators (KPIs) for top‑line revenue.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Revenue, Technical Accounting, FP&A, Legal) to deliver strategic insights.
• Handle ad‑hoc projects and technical accounting research as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience in a fast‑paced environment.
• Professional proficiency in English.
• Strong analytical mindset with meticulous attention to detail.

Required skills

• US GAAP knowledge.
• Advanced Excel.
• NetSuite ERP.
• Experience with ERP enhancements and system implementations.
• KPI development and financial reporting.
